I have a battery charger for rechargeable batteries, is it possible to recharge “non rechargeable batteries”?
Everybody has said no so far, except the guy that wants you to bake them. I have to go with the ones that say no, don’t do it.
Common batteries work by chemical action. Rechargeable batteries are designed to be recharged and their chemical properties are such that the chemical action that generates the current flow in a battery can be reversed. When you charge them, the chemicals are forced back to the state that allows them to create electric current again.
Non-rechargeable batteries don’t use this chemistry. Their chemicals can’t be forced back to the state that allows them to create electric current again. It’s a different set of chemicals and a chemical action. Trying to charge them is just a waste of effort and may be dangerous.
